That is a new one. I can't believe he took so long to look at your x-rays with all the pain you were having. I sure hope this relieves your mind but I think a second opinion is a very good idea just to be sure. Janet

That's good news! I've been lurking on your thread, too, waiting to hear your news. That's a really weird explanation. Maybe that's all he could come up with since he maybe doesn't really know what the POP was??? Hang in there!
        Be happy!
We don't know what tomorrow brings,
        but we are alive today!

Luckily (and shockingly to me!) I have NO broken rods (as of a month ago).

Apparently I have ridiculously strong and dense bones (I have been told this before by my neurosugeon who did my lamenectomy/lipoma removal in 2006)....Until the screws have worn a slightly larger "hole" it sounds like they will continue to do so and be "uncomfortable" until then.

Hardly know what to say. I think YOU are doing all the right things, tho', including the 2nd opinion. It really sounds promising, compared with your worst fears (which I confess, I had come to share - partly because he sounded like such a dork. LIkewise, the whole facility with that bit abt the vacation, etc.)

I doubt he would dare take a chance on misinforming you abt something so serious, though. Let us know about the other doc's thoughts. Boy, that explanation sure makes us sound like tinker toys, doesn't it?

I feel a LOT better, though on your behalf, still upset about their negligence/insouciance about your situation. (Might one ask this [censored] doctor's name? He IS an SRS member, right?

PS Did he apologize at least, about his delay in reading your films/ getting back to you? Probably, even if he had the impulse, he followed the legal dictum "Never apoloigize, never explain."
Not all diagnosed (still having tests and consults) but so far:
          Ehler-Danlos (hyper-mobility) syndrome, 69 - somehow,
          main curve L Cobb 60, compensating T curve ~ 30
Flat back, marked lumbar kyphosis (grade?) Spondilolisthesis - everyone gives this a different grade too. Cervical stenosis op'd 3-07, minimally invasive

            Tiger,
You could PM our forum moderator Linda Racine. She might know if your doctor's story holds water, has been observed with patients in the clinic where she works.
