Has anyone had a fusion done at Arrowhead Hospital in Glendale, AZ? I can't seem to find any reviews.

Is hospital choice important?
The hospital is important. Without adequate nursing staff and a clean environment the best surgery can go wrong. Infections and pneumonia are more prevalent when the ratio of RNs to patient is inadequate. Pneumonia can result when there is not enough help to ambulate the patient. In the last decade cheaper, non-professional help, was used to substitute for RNs and we are seeing the increase in infections as well as other complications. Why? They just do not have the training.
I chose Hospital for Special Surgery as well as my surgeon because they had a significantly low infection rate. On the other hand a good surgeon would be unlikely to affiliate with a substandard hospital except when the choice was limited.
I speak as a member of the medical profession and I see what most people don't even notice.Original scoliosis surgery 1956 T-4 to L-2 ~100 degree thoracic (triple)curves at age 14. NO hardware-lost correction.
Anterior/posterior revision T-4 to Sacrum in 2002, age 60, by Dr. Boachie-Adjei @Hospital for Special Surgery, NY = 50% correction
