I have not seen research studies on this, but all of my doctors said that my four pregnancies DID cause my curve to worsen (Boachie, Lenke, Oro in Colorado, and Bauman here in Salt Lake). They each...

My GI doctor just laughed when I asked him (pre-surgery) if my scoliosis could be contributing to my GERD, esophageal ulcer, mild gastroparesis, etc. So, I didn't expect much to change after...

    Hi

My surgery was with Dr. Lenke on Jan 29th, 2010.

I woke up in excruciating pain--like 11 on the pain scale of 1 to 10. (I had also given birth to my four children naturally). BUT, as soon...

I flew from St. Louis to Salt Lake but I had my mother to help me. I don't know if I could have done it myself. I just went for my post-op check-up last week and my mom showed me where I was lying...

I had the same/Contact Dr. Lenke

    Hi Laura

I also had surgery with Dr. Lenke in January. My bowels were just the same--my photos look like I was huge and pregnant and my x-rays show my bowels filled with lots of air.

    I...

Thanks Debbei for understanding "the brick"--I've explained it to my family & friends and they want to be understanding so they kind of shake their head "yes" but unless you have actually felt it I...
  12. Much Straighter

My two cents worth--I'm 8 weeks out. I was fused T3-L3 and besides the double major scoli also had kyphosis. I am so straight I love it! It has been a little adjustment though.

    It feels like...

    Hi

I am a nurse too. I just had T3-L3 fused 1/29/10. I have been a homemaker since my first child was born 15 years ago but I still have an active license.

I, too, will need to enter the...

    Oxycontin not hydrocodone

    Oops.

I meant you only get one bottle of Oxycontin (you do get one refill for the hydrocodone--Norco). The Oxycontin just lasts so long and gave my shoulders the only relief so that I could sleep.

    Howdy from JenParker

    Hi Chris!

So good to hear from you. It's sounds like you are doing wonderfully. I'm not up to all of that yet but happy that you are.

I still can't wear a bra yet. It will come I suppose.

    Unrelenting

Yes, Linda, the pain is unrelenting. It is like I traded my old back pain which wasn't this bad for something that is at an "8 or 9" on the pain scale ALL the time--even with the narcotics.
