  • Rib Protrusion

I'm a 22 year-old female with moderate idiopathic scolisois; however, the way I found out I had it (4 years ago) was pain in my ribs. But the rib hump is not a back rib hump, my front rib on the left side actually sticks out so much that it's visible in clothes. My doctor says that a front rib hump is not a sign of scoliosis, and that my ribs have probably always been like this. Well, they haven't. I know my body, and I know they haven't always been this uneven. It's actually quite painful sometimes.

Has anyone ever heard of a front rib hump?

    Hi Kristen

I have a front rib hump on my left side, it's not as large as the back rib hump on my right side. I'm pretty sure it is caused by the rotation of my spine, which is certainly part of scoliosis

Did your doctor say that the front rib hump is a sign/effect of the scoliosis? My doctor says that one has nothing to do with the other, and I don't have a back rib hump.
