We're down to the wire. Packing bags, taking care of last minute details, etc. I am not taking much of anything to the hospital Tues. but will be keeping stuff where my husband is staying and he's just going to bring it as I need it. Still have to lug stuff with us since we're 4 hours away from home and I'll probably be in NY for 2 weeks. Assume I won't need much of anything until rehab week. The good-byes and well wishing phone calls are wonderful but am getting to the point of being emotionally drained from them. Hope I can sleep better tonight--Tylenol PM didn't even help last night. Keep those encouraging post-op posts coming--this forum is my lifeline right now!

Hi Anne-
I just wanted to say good luck to you on Tuesday!! I'm sure the waiting is the hardest part but soon you will be on the road to recovery! I was just thinking, I remember you joined this forum right when I did back in August, and I'll never forget your post back in October about visiting a doctor at John Hopkins and how you then changed your mind about the surgery. Well look at how far you've come in just a short time!! You are so strong, you made up your mind and stuck to it and are getting surgery and will do just great! You have a great doctor now and everything will be just fine. Please keep us posted! Good luck!

Just remember that you will have some incredibly talented people working on you. They do this stuff day in and day out....
Watch out for those "nasty nurses"... I know I did, they just didn’t seem to show up enough for me. LOL
Pretty soon this will all be over.

Anne,
You have my best wishes and prayers as well. You will do just fine. If I could do it at age 67, almost 68, you can do it as well cause you are much younger than me.

Getting ready
Good luck tomorrow! Dr. Lonner did my surgery in 2006 and all went well.
After 9 hours he was walking on air showing my family my new back-he didn't
even look tired. He's a great doctor and has been there for every question since. I'm glad I logged on today-it'd been a while. dianehant./post. fusion Jan. '06
