I think it should be just fine. Just be careful of temperature since you will have lots of numbness. I think I somehow did this to my back with my old heating pad the other day. Since there is still numbness I didn't realize it was too hot and somehow I now have a Harry Potter red lightning bolt on my back. Quite interesting. JanetJanet

Lumbar Curve: 63 degrees to 5 degrees
Surgery with Dr. Lenke in St. Louis--March 30, 2009
T-2 to Pelvis, and hopefully all posterior procedure.
All was posterior along with 2 cages and 6 osteotomies. -

My husband got me a heated mattress pad right after I came home from the hospital and I love it. I like it much better than the electric blanket that we had before because I don't need as many blankets to stay warm. After a lot of my numbness went away, I did begin to feel the wires in the pad, but since I got myself a 2 1/2 inch memory foam topper, I don't feel the wires anymore.
