Planning on surgery:
Had my first surgery, laminectemy and fusion L4/L5 in 82 at 42 years of age. Now at 62 I have been told by Dr. mackinsey in Plano to see Dr. Shillakoph, supposedly the best in the area. My
back seems to be caving in and Dr. mac. thinks I need to have
my back stabilized. I had a staph infection with the first
operation. The operation wasn't bad- the infection was hell.
I had been doing well, very athletic, with minor pain since
l982. My chiropractor kept me pain free for 15 years-but
now I have pain he can't reach. I am petrified of an operatio
and the possibility of infection . At 62 and with a 'fairly ridgid' curve of 75 in the thoracic, Iam not even sure if any straightening my curves.is possible. Did anyone else have
fairly ridgid curves and still have a reduction?
