    Hi Jesse...

You might want to make an appointment with a scoliosis specialist in your area. A mild curve shouldn't be causing you so much pain, but there are other things, potentially related to the scoliosis, that could be the cause. You'll find a list of specialists here:

Please have a look at my response to another recent thread on essentially the same topic, scoliosis-related pain.

Best of luck finding an appropriate therapist to help you!

        Hey dude,

I hear ya! I am 28 and am in a similar situation to you. I know how damn frustrating it is, it drives me absolutely nuts all the time too

But what can we do? If your spine is in a mild range, I bet you can sort that out with the right exercises and medications - I am currently doing this, but with a negative outcome so far.

This condition really sucks, especially as a guy as we are in the minority which only adds to the problem - psychologically anyway.

There is a solution out there for you somewhere, for me too, we just have to really fight for ourselves to get something done about it. I wish you well in your battle. We all need allies though, so welcome to the forum.

          Jesse,

First off I'm sorry about your situation. Its bad enough to grow up with scoliosis, but even worse when your parents don't believe you. Growing up my father just thought I was lazy and didn't consider any pain I was in.

You did come to the right place though. Its a good group of people and lots of support.

Actually your chiro is correct. This can help. I would see if you can go see a physical therapist to give you some ideas of what exercises you can do without hurting yourself more. Remember its slow and steady, so keep at it.

            Hi Jesse

I started Chiro back when I was about 28 years old and it was a life saver. Of course you need to find a Chiro who knows about scoli, and that can take some time and money looking for someone good.

Massage is very helpful. Once again, you need to find someone who knows what they are doing.

There are all sorts of alternative methods that people use, and also bracing to relieve pain.

Do you know what your Cobb angles are?

I will try to post in a few days as I'm on vacation right now, scuba diving in Hawaii.

Thanks alot guys...and gals!! I'm so happy that I can talk to people that KNOW what I'm going thru. People don't understand that not only is it a physical problem...but also a psyhcological problem and an emotional problem. It takes a tremendous mental toll on us. Well, It looks like I came to the right place.
              Thanks!
