I'm 5.5 months post op and saw my Surgeon today. I had standing, back on and side on x-rays done. Everything is in place, and there is new bone visible in my pelvic area which Dr. Askin said is the most important place.
He said you can't see new bone in the thoracic area on an x-ray. So I'm just hoping it's fusing further up as well.
I got the go ahead to do gentle gardening, (no pulling) kayaking in our double kayak, with Alan doing most of the work. He said to build up gradually over the next 6 months because it will be another 6 months before I'm fully fused.
I am allowed to carry 10 kilos, allowed to have a gentle massage while on holidays and allowed to get a little sun on it (but not get it burnt!)
So life will soon be back to normal.
