Hi everyone - it has been a very long time since i have been to the forum. Our daughter Kaitlin (now 14) had surgery in February 08.
Her spine was fused T5-L2.
Life is back to normal by now and everything went well as expected and now Kaitlin is just like any other 14 year old although has been told not to play contact sports etc.
She is at that age where really wants to go ice skating with her friends and i am very unsure about allowing it. I am worried if has a heavy fall it will cause problems. She wasnt a bad ice skater prior to the operation but by no means a pro or never fell down etc.
Would love to know what others would do as i dont want to spoil all her fun as she is a bit restricted with the sports but dont want the complications this could cause.
Thanks for your advice/opinions. Melinda xx
