  • Wierd hip pain post op

    Hi guys,

I am about 4 weeks post op and have recently started getting pain in my hip/low back on the right side. It hurts really bad when I walk and I have to kind of hunch over to even walk just a little without it hurting. I also have a stabbing pain in my upper left back. It kind of feels like my hardware is rubbing or something. Has anyone else had similar post op problems?

    Thanks for any advice.

    Hi Allison,

Do you think your pain is because of a muscle spasm? I had muscle spasms in my right hip on and off for several months after my surgery, but it has gradually gotten better. If it is a spasm, your Dr. could probably prescribe a muscle relaxant for you. Your body has to make a lot of adjustments after scoliosis surgery and it takes time for the muscles to make that adjustment.
