  • Janet's surgery.

This is Janet's husband, Bob. She had surgery on March 30th. It lasted around 10 hours and was very successful. She was released from the hospital Tuesday, the 7th and is now in rehabilitation for 7-10 days as was her request. She is walking down the halls very well. The doctor was very pleased with the correction. Her final numbers before surgery was 95 degrees
thoracic and 62 degrees lumbar. After surgery, she is lower than 25 degrees thoracic and the lumbar curve is gone. We are not certain but believe that she had 4 units of blood during surgery and probably a total of 4 units after surgery.

Janet's main problem is pain control. The regimen figured out is fine but we just can't seem to get anybody to deliver the doses on time. It has been extremely frustrating. Janet or I will post more later. She wants to thank each and every one of you. Bob

Bob-- thanks so much for the update. I hope the pain med problem gets taken care of soon. One more reason to look forward to being at home again-- you control the meds then. Hoping her rehab experience is a good one. Please give Janet a gentle hug from me. Susie

        Thanks so much Bob!

I know what you mean about getting the meds on time. I had a similar problem. Once she's at home and you're in control, and just as importantly, she's in a comfortable bed, all will fall into place. I promise!
