    How old is too old? Knee replacment at 100?

    That is amazing. Good for her that it worked out so well. I don't know how many surgeons are willing to risk operating on someone that old.

    She seems like she's a feisty old girl enjoying life.

      Yes it is! It really installs hope in the fact that if she can do it, so can we, and we are all younger than her!!!

        Posterior Fusion L2-S1 on 12/4/2007. age 67
        Anterior Fusion L3-L4,L4-L5,L5-S1 on 12/19/2007
        Additional bone removed to decompress right side of L3-L4 & L4-L5 on 4/19/2010

          Fusion late in life

          Hi Ed,

          Dr. Mermer (My Dr.) Told me he did fusion on a 93 year old man. I blurted out "why?" and he explained because he needed it and it improved his quality of life. I felt a bit foolish, who am I to judge? But I guess it is becoming more common to do surgery on older folks.
