:( I am worried about having more surgeries. My back seems to be getting worse. I been having chronic back pain more frequently. I am getting tired of the pain. My last surgery was in June 04. The Dr says maybe one more but I am afraid it won't be the last. Does it ever stop. Thanks in advance to any new ideas.

I totally understand your worries. I have had four surgeries: two fusions and two rod removals. My last fusion was 99 and my last surgery was 02 but now I too am having more frequent pain in my lower back and legs.

I don't want to think that it keeps going on but as much as I can tell there are many here in the forums that have had multiple surgeries and after many years saying that their would not be another.

Have you seen your dr lately?? Lately with this recent back pain I have been stretching faithfully and it has helped. Also I have an appointment with my dr on the 2nd of october and I am going to ask about the Spinecor Brace. Now I have done some research and it shows people that are adults with previous fusions that it helps with pain and gives the back support.

I personally don't want another surgery and I am going to figure out what to do! I know it is easier said then done.

Another scoliosis patient told me that some years back she had "rain drop therapy". She was told that Scoliosis is a viral disease and by getting this done it correctly slightly and stopped any further curvature!! She had 8 sessions and it help tremendously. Now I haven't checked that out yet but that was pretty recently info there.

If anyone else has had "rain drop therapy" and had good results; share, please!!

maybe start a thread on rain drop therapy, it sounds a bit like snake oil... how do we know whether her curve would have stopped progressing on its own? Not to be negative, wouldn't it be lovely if it worked. But there are very vulnerable people out there who will try anything, at great expense.

You are so true about not knowing if her curve would of stopped and I really have no answer.

I am at a loss of what to do myself. Anyone who may read this I have no personal results with "rain drop therapy" or seen any results. Everyone do be careful before you go putting alot of money into something that may not even work.

Not always is there an answer for why our curves keep going.

OMG that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time!! Desperate people will try anything, and I suppose as long as it isn't harmful physically why not...other than it being a big waste of cash.

I have had a couple of nerve ablations to stop a lot of my back pain. They use radiowaves to zap the nerves so they stop sending out pain messages. I go to a doctor that specializes in brain and spine rehab and pain management.

If it sounds to good to be true, well you know the saying. I don't mean to sound harsh but if you are having that much trouble, have the surgery.

Scoliosis a viral disease? That is quite a creative and amusing diagnosis.

For an explanation of raindrop therapy see:

For a position paper on raindrop therapy by aromatherapy practitioners see:

There's a sensible way to deal with post-op scoliosis and pain. See:

I think I am going to wait til after the first of the year to have more surgery. What they are going to do is remove some hardware that is useless
and they think is causing the pain. I hope and PRAY that helps with the pain.

Hmmm. Sounds about as amusing as your "Schroth cures it all!" dogma.

Cha-ching!

Can you say "as transparent as used Neutrogena"?

As a MAN (and, I believe, a practitioner masquerading as one of US), do you even ken my meaning?

I doubt it.
