Hi everyone,
Just curious- I am a year and a half post op and fused T4- Sacrum. My hamstrings get tight when I try to bend at the hips and I can only bend about a 45 deg. angle. I know this will get better over time with stretching out my hamstrings but I know I won't ever be able to bend as much as I used to. I was wondering how far others can bend who are fused to the sacrum, and if it gets better over time. Thanks!!
Cathie

Wow...you can make it to 45*!?! LOL I think I am closer to 35*-40*. I still can't quite cut my own toenails or buckle shoes that buckle on the outside of the ankle. My hamstrings are very tight as well. I am fused T4-Sacrum and 6 months post op.

For Geish: I'm six months out and my doctor doesn't want me bending for a year. Do you have your doc's permission to bend?

It's more like leaning forward at the hips. Not bending per se. You know, spitting in the sink after brushing your teeth, attempting to shave the legs, stuff like that.
