  • surgeons in Philadelphia?

    Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find information from people who have had scoliosis surgery in the Philadelphia area. I'm 28 and need the surgery for progressing curve. I've heard of two surgeons, John Dormans at Children's Hospital, and Richard Balderston at Pennsylvania Hospital. Does anybody have any experience of these guys, or have any other recommendations in the Philly area?

    THANKS for all your help...

    Drs in Phila

I got the names of 2 surgeons(Alex Vaccaro & Todd Albert) at Jefferson in
Philadelphia where a friend of mine is a nurse-anesthetist; they do
revisions all the time. As a matter of fact, before I knew something could
be done for me, she suggested that there was surgery that was done all the
time there and that they have a big spine center.

I do not know anyone who went to them-I was done in NY but you can check it out.

      surgeons in philadelphia?

Dr. Randal Betz and Dr. Linda D'Andrea are 2 surgeons I'm familiar with at Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia. Dr. D'Andrea performed surgery on my son 3/10/04. From what I was able to see, all the doctors on staff there are highly regarded.
