Thanks for sharing, Angela. Won't it be so exciting to post the "after" pics?!!! :D It sure shows you have a scoli problem! You did your links right. ;)

You and Brittany (TnGirl07) have your surgeries just a week apart, so you'll have to both show us your "before and after's"... Brittany--I don't know enough about posting pics to help you, but I do know you post them on an internet site like photobucket and then put the link in the post or your signature. Good luck!

yeah we will be recoving together :) cant wait till after now only 3 weeks on wednesday :D
glad i done the pics right, i will post after ones when i have some, he said he cant say what the correction will be cause of my age my spine is less flixible but it will go back a bit but he cant say how much until he is doing it......

Is it true that you dont remember the first day thats what he has told me, he said i wont know anything afterwards of what happened the day of the op..
Does anyone know how long they where in recovery he said to me might be 2-3 hours my parents of course want to see me ASAP but he said they wont be allowed in recovery, and will have to wait till im on the ward, which will be about 8 hours with the op aswell so long wait for them to find out whats happened..

Angela-- don't worry very much about the "day of" and "day after"-- you probably won't remember much of anything, especially the day of surgery. You'll be aware of some things happening at the time, but any memory of it will be extremely hazy...

Everyone's surgery is so different that it's hard to tell you about times. I was in surgery for 8 hours, recovery for 4, then intensive care for about 24. It will be ok. You probably wouldn't really be aware of your parents even if they could be in recovery with you. They'll be there for you when it counts-- when you are a little more aware of things.

Most (probably all!) doctors will somehow inform parents/spouse how the surgery is going, and give updates. My nurse told my husband things were going well about half way through my surgery-- and what point they were at (about to start the instrumentation), and then when it was over my surgeon called and talked to my hubby and said it went quite well, he'd gotten a lot of correction, etc., and I was about to go to recovery. (There was a phone in the waiting room.) Make sure your parents let them know they want to be kept informed. And then they need to be where they can be contacted.

Try to do some fun things in the meantime so you don't think too much about it all! You're almost there! :)

Angela,

I think you have a beautiful back even now, but just think how much prettier it will be when you’re all straightened out. Since you are so young, you should get a great correction. :)

aww thanks Chris yeah i hope i get a good correction.
Question for people who read this how long was it till you could get back in a bath again, i got told i couldnt have a bath for a while and cause we dont have a walk in shower, means i will have to wash at a sink basically i was hoping to have a bath when i got home, with not to much water cause of the scar healing still....

and thanks susie for that information, my dad will be the worse my mum tends to be ok once im in surgery, she is bad before hand but once im in there she should be ok, and my mum will stay in the admission bit where they will be contacted asap, admission is right near the surgery aswell, so i guess thats where they are contacted, my dad will be in and out cause he smokes, and hates hospitals sooo much like a lot of people....:)
I am planning on going to the touring car championships,,,if people know what that is the weekend before i go in so that will take my mind off it :D
