Hi everyone! I just wanted to post & say that my daughter is having her spinal fusion as I write. Right now she is 2 1/2 hours into her surgery. The nurse comes out every hour to give us an update. So far everything is fine!
Please keep Laura in your prayers.
Thank you so much,
Martha

Lord, please be with Laura and send an angel to watch over her. Touch her with your healing hands. Amen

Yes, Martha-- I'll be praying for Laura's surgery today-- and for you too, as I know it must be tough sitting in the waiting room... as well as for a relatively quick recovery. Thanks for letting us know. Blessings... :)

Hi Everyone,

I just checked Laura's Surgery Blog and the surgery is over and went well!!!

No complications, issues, etc. so far. She did GREAT.

I was thinking of posting the link to the blog but then I figured if Martha wanted to do it, she would have.

However, if anyone would like the linke either PM or e-mail me.

I am SOOO relieved and happy for them!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my post about my daughter's fusion & for all the many prayers that came our way. They sure did help! Everything went very smoothly & without complications. In fact, today is Day 4 Post Op & we were told that Laura is 24 hours ahead of where she should be. She practiced the stairs today & is set to go home tomorrow. The nurses are calling her the "Poster Child of Posterior Spinal Fusion." Again, much thanks for all the support & well wishes for Laura & our family.

We arrived home yesterday, on Laura's post op day 6. How nice to be home, sleep in our own beds, shower in our own shower, & the list goes on & on. Most importantly, Laura has done amazingly well. Her pain is under control & she has been a real trooper throughout this incredible experience. She has amazed me with her courage, bravery, & positive attitude. After all, her blood type IS B+!!!!

Martha,
Congratulations to your whole family on a successful surgery! I bet it feels amazing to be home again so soon. All that anxiety leading up to the surgery is in the past and the future looks bright. Laura's new x-rays look amazing. The blog has been terrrific. My daughter and I have been following it daily. I am pleased to hear her recovery is rapid and that everyone is in good spirits. I thought of you when I saw Idol was on last night, but I forgot to tune in. Please continue to update us on Laura's progress.

Brenda et al, thank you for following laura's progress on the blog & for all of your good wishes. Laura's goal was to be home on Tues. night to watch Am Idol. Actually, she was 24 hours ahead of herself so she could have gone home the night before but decided to stay one last night. Laura's recovery is amazing. Each day gets better & better & she even changed into a tank top & shorts all by herself today for a walk around the neighborhood. Her pain is under control & all is going extremely well.
