  • Daughter's surgery & American Idol

My daughter is scheduled for surgery on April 17th at CHOP. While we are waiting, I'm taking her on a mother/daughter trip to Los Angeles. I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how I can get her to be in the audience of the March 25th American Idol show. She's been a huge fan since season 1 & if anyone can help us in any way (phone #, contact person, etc.) to make her dream become a reality, it would be appreciated more than you could ever imagine.

You might try telling your story (via email is fine) to someone at the studio, I cant help you with who. But I can tell you that I told of my daughters surgery recovery to the glass house in pomona for a concert that was sold out and there were no tickets to be found anywhere. I simply asked if there were any "hold backs". The glass house manager responded by inviting my daughter and two guests to this concert. She had a great time. We also prepared a thank you card complete with x-ray images of her corrected spine which they appreciated very much. Don't hold back when you tell the story, Spinal Fusion is a powerful phrase and if your daughter is like mine, going to the show will be an unforgettable experience that they deserve.

How about contacting Local radio stations - they may have some contacts. I know they have helped some kids around here with these types of requests. Also - let lots of people know, you never know who may have a friend of a friend.
          Good luck!!

Thanks for the AI tix tips!

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded to my request for help with ideas on how to get my daughter into the audience of next week's American Idol show (March 26th). You all had some great ideas & I really appreciate them. I will let you know if I have success...I sure hope so! If not, she will have an amazing time, regardless, by touring Hollywood, Universal Studios, Dancing With The Stars, & Disney. It's nice to know we're all in the same boat of spoiling our pre-op kids to the max!

              Martha,
I sent you a PM. Please look for that message and respond if you are still interested. My sister's husband is a judge on Canadian Idol. He might be able to do something for you with the American show.
