i got a question for yall. how long do you have to wear you brace for, and what kind of brace do you have?

i am getting my brace in like a week and a half. im getting a providence which is a nighttime only one. if that one doesnt stop curve progression im gonna be in the spinecor. in all i'll be in a brace for like 2 1/2 years they estimate.

Different types of braces

Hi scoliosisat12,

Different types of braces require different lengths of time. The Providence is about 8 to 10 hours and only at night. The Boston Brace is about 12 -16 hours a day, sometimes 23 hours a day, depending on how old you are and your degree of curve(s). My daughter, scolioswimmer - age 12, has a Providence Brace and her cousin has a Boston Brace.
