Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with their arm/shoulder range of motion (ROM). I'm going to physical therapy, started about a month ago-- and found out there that the ROM in my arm/shoulder area is less than half of what it should be. I know it takes awhile to recover from this surgery, and am busy working on this problem now with physical therapy. I wondered if this is something that is common or not. I'm 7 months post-op now, and hoped to be doing really fine by this time. I am in so many ways, so I'm not complaining.
With my ROM limitations, I have a hard time fastening my bra, taking cardigan type sweaters off, reaching my seat belt, etc. Anyone else with this problem? My fusion is from T2-L4. And I'm hoping I won't develop other problems. Just above my fusion area I was getting a lot of discomfort yesterday, as I finished off my Christmas cards. I think it was just from being in that writing position for too long... That is getting off the subject though. Just let me know if some of you developed ROM problems post-op-- and if you worked through it or not with time and/or pt. Thanks!
