I asked my doctor if i could go swimming but i have to wait when i go back for my check up early next year. If i went now, I'd be sore etc, but it'll be the end of summer once i can finally go. What did anyone do around this time after their operations?

When you do get to go swimming, you have to go slow. If the water is choppy, it hurts my back. I go to a therapy pool where they keep the water real warm. I only go when there are no classes so I don't get bounced around. You can get jarred when in the water and that is probably why your doctor wants you to wait.

I swim alot, and asked my surgeon, who told me that I cannot go swimming, go in a pool or hot tub for at least 6 months due to the risk of infection and exposure to chemicals in public pools.
i'm not sure, but I'm guessing it is the same reason.
Hope this helps,
Roseann
I wasn't allowed to swim until 6 months post op.
