  • 14 months post op

Hi everyone. Well its been awhile because nothing remarkable has happened which I guess is quite remarkable. Scar looks great. Went to Europe for 3 weeks to celebrate the one year anniversary-all good even the 25 hour flight from sydney so thats great. Still numb in lots of phantom spots which will probably never come back but not a problem. Cold winter weather has been a bit harder but thermal undergarments have been a great help. Only had the one menstrual period since the op. Seeing specialist in mid september to get that sorted. Might just need a kick start with some stimulants. Apart from that, all is good and I still testify that the operation was the best thing I have ever done for myself. Good luck to all.

I appreciate you writing about your surgery success- It helps to hear good news. Hormones are so unpredictable ! I had a month long off and on period after my surgery...Keep up the good work! Lisa

      Way to go Katie,

Congratulations on such a great recovery!!! You are a wonderful example of how this surgery can improve our lives in so many different ways, and in my own sick mind, I consider not having a period is not so bad either. I don't remember how old you are though.

Nevertheless, it's terrific that you've done so well!!!

        Katie,

Congratulations on the 14 month mark. I bet you have learned several things this past year about yourself, life, etc. I think it is amazing that you are doing so well. It is also great to hear that you are happy with your decision to have gone through with this life changing surgery. Keep fighting.

Yes, thank you Katie for sharing your confidence in your decision to have surgery. Mine's getting closer (October 3) and the fear is beginning to set in. The greatest reassurance is hearing someone on the other side say that they are glad that they did it.
