Hello everyone

I had an x-ray done the other day and I have it posted here. I have a very strange curve. The lumbar part of my spine is straight up and down but then curves greatly to the right (not left as shown) around L1. Last year my curve was 44 degrees. It looks a little worse this year, but to me it looks much larger than 44 degrees. I was thinking more in the 60 range. I'd be interested in what you all think and if anyone else wants to post their x-rays, I'd be interested in looking at them.

The only way to know for sure is for a scoliosis doc to measure and compare. To me it looks like you have a larger lumbar curve and a smaller thoracic--(double curve).

Shell...

You really need a full spine xray to measure your curves properly. (Yours stop in the lower lumbar spine.) It looks like your curves are not very balanced, which I think puts you at higher risk of progression.

Linda

Thanks for the replies. The whole x-ray didn't fit on my scanner, but I did have a full spine x-ray done. I'm going to my scoliosis doctor on the 23rd of this month. I also thought my curves were really unbalanced. My doctor seems to disregard the lower part and only measures T2-L1.

Thanks again!
