Ok, well summer is coming up and is there any ways on how to make it through the summer. Because I have a brace and it will make me two times hotter. So any suggestions? Thanks in advance for the replies.

Any time you spend swimming shouldn't count as time out of your brace - but please check with your doctor on this.
Other than that, try to stay in air conditioned places as much as you can - especially during the hottest part of the day.
Hope this helps.

Maria- Yeah, I go to the doctors in august and I'll try to remember to ask him.
I have to wear my brace at least 18-22 hours a day.

Why don't you just call his office to ask? Between now and August there will be plenty of hot weather :)

My dd is supposed to wear the brace 20-23 hours/day. The doctor told us that time spent exercising doesn't count as time out of the brace. My dd spends 1-3 hours/day out of the brace, but most of that time is spent in exercise.

My 9 year old son made it through one very hot summer with a Boston brace. He did better than I thought that he would - even with a several night boy scout camp. He did drink more water - and I reminded him to when he was with me. I did try to find day camps that had some inside cooler areas, and swimming too. When it was over 100 deg and he was outside for a while, I tried to get him to take it off. He often wore the brace with just a brace shirt, and no shirt over it, which made it cooler too.
Good luck,
Jean
