Hi. My daughter wears a Boston Brace 16 hours each day. She wears the Boston T underneath. Her doctor recommended switching to Under Armour or something like it for the summertime since it would be cooler.

My problem is that she likes to wear tank tops but needs the axilla flap under one arm to keep the brace from rubbing against her armpit. He recommended short sleeve sports tops.

Does anyone know of a type or brand of sports tank top or camisole that is high enough under the armpit to serve as a protecting flap? Or do you have any other recommendations on what she can wear under her brace in the summer?

Thanks so much for your help.

We ended up buying "tubed" tshirt material from Hancock Fabric (our local fabric store). Cut it to match her waist size (a little smaller actually) and then serged it back together. We also made the length twice what it needed to be. Put the serged seam in the back (under the straps) and then pulled the top down and bottom up. They stayed together without ties or snaps. Once we started doing that it completely covered the straps so they didn't eat her clothes anymore. It also kept the brace from rubbing her underarm as it now had fabric on it. The fabric store had multitudes of colors and weights. Hope this helps some.
