My surgery date is changed!!!

Here I am, all ready for Monday (30th) only to get a call yesterday that my EKG was abnormal and my surgery is on hold!!! I flipped! Not my surgeons fault but the hospital who waited three weeks from the time of the EKG till three days before surgery to read the dam thing. So off to my PC today thinking he would clear me but instead told me why I need a stress test and echo first. So now Monday, instead of having my revision, I will be having these tests done. And to think, I am the one who takes excellent care of herself, exercises almost daily, weight is normal, etc... And my job is in cardiac care at a hospital. Apparently I have some abnormal rythym's. So now my surgery is next Monday, the 7th. I cannot wait till this is overrrrrrr. :mad:

Believe me, I know how frustrating it is. My daughter has been waiting since last May for surgery. It was finally scheduled for March 6, only to have it cancelled because no one ever looked at her MRI. Basically the same thing that happened to you. They had the MRI since September of 06 and no one bothered to look at it until the surgery was scheduled in February. Once it was looked at- they decided they needed another MRI , the surgery was cancelled and someone else moved into her place. I was just heartbroken and so was she after the long wait we had endured.

The good news is we received notice 2 weeks ago that the surgery is now rescheduled for May 15th- almost a year to the day since we started this journey. On the bright side :) you only have to wait another week and not 2 more months like we did.

I wish you the best with your surgery and it will come and go before you know it. Take the time to get some things done that you have been putting off- maybe it will make the time go by faster.
