back bothering... scolio worse? surgery? -HELP!

hmm well lately my back has been bothering me a lot. I have a boston brace with an S shaped spine. [ top 40 bottom 40 ] and I think that my scoliosis got worse when I stand without my brace and such. But, if it gets any worse then I have to get surgery. But the thing is theres the pros and cons to it. Like I wouldnt have to wear my brace anymore, and my spine would be way better than living with it still curved. But im not okay with getting the rods and such.

is surgery a good thing or bad thing?

thats what i wonder too..
would i rather be with the brace for about 2 or more years and wait for results (with a slight chance of needing surgery) and not being able to do some certain things, or getting surgery, suffering for about a month and not being able to do physical things for a year (as i was told), but getting it over with?!?! I am currently wearing a cheneau brace 23/7 and I'm hoping i won't need surgery and everything will be working out alright..
