back bothering... scolio worse? surgery? -HELP!

hmm well lately my back has been bothering me a lot. I have a boston brace with an S shaped spine. [ top 40 bottom 40 ] and I think that my scoliosis got worse when I stand without my brace and such. But, if it gets any worse then I have to get surgery. But the thing is theres the pros and cons to it. Like I wouldnt have to wear my brace anymore, and my spine would be way better than living with it still curved. But im not okay with getting the rods and such.

:confused: is surgery a good thing or bad thing?

thats what i wonder too..
would i rather be with the brace for about 2 or more years and wait for results (with a slight chance of needing surgery) and not being able to do some certain things, or getting surgery, suffering for about a month and not being able to do physical things for a year (as i was told), but getting it over with?!?! I am currently wearing a cheneau brace 23/7 and I'm hoping i won't need surgery and everything will be working out alright.. :)
