  • Radiofrequency Neurotomy

Hi -- I am a 27 year old female and had a spinal fusion for a 75 degree curve when I was 13 after being in a Boston brace for 3 years and then subsequently a rod removal at 18.

I now deal with disc degeneration, bulging disks, Kyphosis & Lordosis and am in contstant pain. I just went to see a new doctor and he does not want to do surgery because he thinks another fusion above my original one will just promote the same type of issues I'm having now, but higher up on my vertabrae.

Since my pain is my chief compaint, he recommended a radiofrequency nerotomy -- I've read up on what it is exactly (putting a lesion on the nerve ending that is causing the pain), but am wondering if anyone has ever received this pain treatment and what I should expect.

Thank you so much for your help. I wish I had this forum when I was growing up
