cant help too much, but my personal experience is that a few months ago my back was at 42 degress and a few months before that it was 25 or something. It varies from person to person, my degree developed quickly because I grew a lot. Some people's might only change a degree or two. Your scoliosis might continue to change, or it may just stop where it is. Hopefully it will just stop where it is but you never know. When I first started off with scoliosis there was a 80% chance (which is considerably high) that i wouldn't need a brace or surgery. So like I said, development of the curve(s) may vary, but lets hope it doesn't change to quickly, or at all. Good Luck!

Jill,
May I ask, did you ever wear a brace for your scoliosis and is it a high, or low curve? How many months did it take to go from 25-42? My daughter's is 23 and the doctor wants us back in two months to re evaluate with xrays. I am worried that it will get much worse.

Thanks
Jeannette(Hannah's mom!)

I am not sure exactly the degress it went from but it changed more than ten or fifteen. I believe it was four months in which this happened because I go see my doctor every four months. I do, and I am wearing a brace. The hours are 22/24. My curve is in my upper right part of my back. Since your daughter is 23, most of her growth should be over with. I think the main reason my degree changed the way it did was because of my fast growth, so your daughter shouldnt have too much of a problem with that. What is her degree? And good luck with your daughter. If you have anymore questions I will try to answer them.

Hi Jill!
My daughter is only 11, and her curves are T3-4 23*, T-9-12 24* and L1-2 12* We just found all this out last month, went to the specialist yesterday and are in a waiting and watching holding pattern! This is the hardest part! Thanks for the reply, good luck with surgery:)

Hi ,
My curves are like 20/40/46 something like that.

brahman,
I will be in this program called ASCO scoliosis treatment . They build up your muscles so that you back stops getting worse. If you have to do something about your curve, I would suggest this program.

Hope I helped,

My daughter is 14 years old and went from 15 degrees to 51 in 6 months. The first measurement was not from an x-ray so i don't believe it was accurate. I wished I had insisted on her being x-rayed last year so her measurement would have been more accurate and she could have been braced. Now they are wanted to do surgery.

What is ASCO? Is it working for you?
