      Surgeons in the UK

I would check the section on "physician/hospital feedback' for UK results. I am from the UK but had surgery in the US. And my Polish is much worse than your English so don't be sorry! I have attached a link to a UK scoliosis website. They have an email and telephone contact and might be able to help you....Hodn? št?stí!!

I had surgery around two weeks ago at the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford, England. I was able to get a date very quickly because I went privately on my father's insurance. My surgeon was Mr. Gavin Bowden, who is based at St. Luke's hospital in Oxford. I cannot fault him or any of the other staff who cared for me during my stay. Though my operation took place at the Nuffield, I stayed at the Oxford Clinic for Specialist Surgery, which is on the same grounds as the Nuffield. Only thing I didn't like there was the food!

Here are some websites you can check out:

        St. Luke's: http://www.stlukeshosp.co.uk/
        Nuffield: http://www.noc.nhs.uk/
Oxford Clinic: http://www.oxfordclinic.org.uk/ (Their website isn't finished yet.)

            Hi Miki

Are you already in England or planning to come here?

I had surgery at the Royal National Orth Hospital (RNOH) in Stanmore. Ive been told by people in the profession that the surgeons here are amongst the best in Europe.

I had my initial appointment with Dr.Harrison in February last year-was told i need operation and had it in Aug 06. This was on the NHS and i know if i wanted to go private it would be with the same surgeons because they are the best and the wait would have been about a month-but i think i needed the few months to come to terms with it all.

Dr.Harrison was actually ill when my op was due so a Dr.Jan Lehovsky did the operation and an excellent job he did even if i do say so myself.

if you have any further questions or want the telephone numbers for these surgeons secretaries let me know.

It is helpful to use the SRS physcian locator:

              http://www.srs.org/locator/

You can also look at the conference schedule and look at the presenters from various countries. There is a listing for Eurospine and an SRS conference in eastern Europe.
