My daughter HAS those under-the-brace shirts with the flaps & her armpits are all red & blistery & it looks like she has a permanent rash....even with the shirts.

When I got my boston brace there were two different places it was bothering me. Down by my where my leg meets my body and my armpit. I went back to the guy who made my brace and had it trimmed down. It is possible to sometimes get it slightly trimmed w/o affecting results. This may be an option for you.April

What brace do you have? If its a Boston Brace then try wearing the undershirts they give you called "boston t's" they help because they have a little piece of cloth sewn on the side preventing they brace from rubbing against your skin. If you don't want to do that then try using Gold bond powder on all red spots it helps irritation. My name is Katie and I love to Dance especially Ballet. I am 14 years old and after 3 years of the Boston brace, I'm officially brace-free! Great holiday present if I do say so myself

I have the same problem. Instead of ordering boston t's, my orthotist said that a little bit of rubbing alcohol works, just put some on a cotton ball and rub it on the affected area. it will sting a little bit, so blow on the area, and then the redness and pain should go away.braceyourself.
