  • 5 months post op...

Hi everyone. Sorry I havn't been on for awhile. I'm back at work full time and doing really well. Wearing my highheels and dancing the night away at clubs already. Very happy with my progress. Go for my 6 month x-rays in a couple of weeks and back to specialist for a checkup at the end of January. I can feel the rods a bit now. A couple of major bumps especially near the top. I have lots of tiny pimples along my scar but nothing noticeable. Did anyone else have these. Since my op, My partner has been rubbing cream into the wound and massaging it gently. This has definately helped with the desensitising of that area. I have regained feeling in most parts of my back now, just a couple of phantom spots. To those of you contemplating this surgery, it was the best thing i have ever done. Yes it's a long recovery, but i never dreamed it would go this well. It doesn't have to change you life, it can be a blessing. If anyone has any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask.

    Hi Katie...

I'm wondering if the cream that your boyfriend is putting on your back might be causing the pimples.

Katie, It is so great to hear about your success. I am only 2 months post-op, but I really am feeling better everyday. I am Christmas shopping with almost no pain at all! I know for sure that I too will be dancing by 5 months! Thank God for our courage and the skillful hands of our surgeons, our future is amazingly bright.

            Hi Dori,

Congratulations to you too!!! At 2 months post-op I was still in my brace, and the only time I left my house was for a doctor visit.

I am always in awe and so happy when someone is doing so well after surgery!!!

            All my best,
            Shari
