is there any pain medications to take after surgery that wont be habit forming?also im wondering if after surgery and the rods are put in and your back is straight,is there a chance that curves can still progress or do the rods keep them from ever moving?

Hi Trudy...
None of the narcotics should be habit forming if you're taking them as prescribed, so I wouldn't worry about that.
Once your curves are fused, they will not increase. If a part of the curve doesn't fuse, it's possible for your curve to increase. And, if the fusion levels aren't selected appropriately, your spine can curve above or below the fusion.
