4 year old daughter w/ spina bifida

My daughter Katelyn was diagnosed with spina bifida at birth and they told us not to worry but they brought it up at our appointement after her leg surgery. Does anyone know what it is? my husband, Larry and I are getting quite worried.

There are several types of spina bifida. I assume since you have been told not to worry about it that she has spina bifida occulta. Check out the information at this link - it explains it very clearly. Hopefully it will be of some help to you.

And just for you not to worry, I was born with the most serious type of spina bifida - I learnt to walk and grew up and got married and have a normal life!
