  • CBP technique???

    HI
I am new here and I hope this is the right place to post this?
    I keep moving it
My daughter who is 13 has scoliosis 35 or 36 on the top and 18 on the bottom.
We have gone to Shriners and she has a Boston brace, but it has been very hard getting her to wear it.
It is not just that she hates it it is also because she has skin problems hives etc.
Unfortunately, we cannot afford spine core and live in an area that is to far from the Shriners that has used it.
We are in far North West California. Have been going to Sacramento but changing to Portland.
Has anyone used a technique called CBP? Biomechanics' or something that that?

Sorry if I am not posting this in the right place. I hope I can get back to this spot!
    Computer whiz I am not.

      CBP Program

      Hi Zo's mom
I found this Web page while surfing the web looking for discussions. information etc for my daughter who is 11 years of age and on the verge of surgery herself.
We have started the CBP program and have done so now for 4 weeks and I will say that a physical change can be seen ater 4 weeks. The initial program is for three months and we will review October 1 to see if the 51deg Naomi has now improves. CBP also requires a lot of work at home but believe me if it keeps her away from the hospital we are going to give it a go.
I am only to happy for you (Zo's mum) and anyone else to send me an email and I can share in more detail the program as well as share with you Naomi's progress on this program.
Naomi obviously has a curved spine but also has the torsional turn that has the ribs protrude when bending over. With CBP we have now started the program to work on the torsional twist now that we can see change in her stance and spine position even though very minimal.
Please be aware that we are located in Perth/Australia so could be a 12-15hr time difference between emails.

Ivanvee, just wondering and off the subject, sorry. How far advanced are they over in WA with Scoliosis and the like. I have been to Victoria and would like another specialist to have a look at my back which has already been operated on and has Harrington rods inserted. Thanks so much, sorry if pest.

Operation 1966, Fused from T4 to L3, had Harrington rods inserted. Originally had an 85 degree Thoracic curve with lumbar scoliosis as well but had a good correction.
Perfectly normal life till 1997 but now in a lot of pain daily. Consider myself very fortunate though.
