  • How much chance for progression?

A friend of mine just told me her 15 year old daughter was diagnosed with a curve of 20 degrees. From my understanding there isn't a real great chance of progression at this age if the growth plates show maturity. They however have not met with the ortho yet so they don't know what her Risor # is at this time. Has anyone had significant progresssion after this point? I told her I would post the question. Linda what are your thoughts? Thanks.

    Hi Kate...

Unfortunately, until you know her Risser #, there's no way to know. But, even if she's skeletally immature, she has a very good chance of not having significant progression.

Hope she fits the statistics! :-)

    Regards,
    Linda
