questions about certain pains

Hi all. I posted before about pregnancy and pain and this is where I am at. I have some questions for folks who've perhaps been through this or just plain know more than I do. (there's alot of you here!) I am now 5 months pregnant and unable to do the smallest task without every muscle in my back feeling knotted up. My bigger concern is that I have very sharp pains along my spine. One at the top where my fusion starts and one in the center. Also my hips are hurting very much, and i'm having numbness in my legs. My hospital doesn't have a spinal surgery specialist so they sent me to a neurologist. It was less than productive. He put up my old xray, felt down my spine and said 'well it feels kinda like it looks'. That's it. I'd rank this pain above childbirth and right there with how I remember feeling after surgery. Any ideas from anyone as to what could be happening? The only thing he did say was that it's just because I'm pregnant and there's more weight on my spine. But I golfed every day up until I gave birth with my first son so I just don't buy it. I'm scared right now. Scared because I've never felt this pain in the 23 years since the fusion.

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're experiencing.

Although I haven't been pregnant, nor have I had surgery yet, I just wanted to tell you that I'll be keeping you in my prayers. I'm sure someone here will be able to answer your questions to help you with your pain, and perhaps ease your mind.

thank you angie. I've just decided i'm getting nowhere with doctors and can undoubtedly get better information here from other's experiences!
