 What did the letter say? Did it give you a diagnosis or anything to tell you what they think is wrong? My advice to you is what I tell everyone: if you have any doubts/questions, ask! Call the hospital and ask them to explain the letter or take it to your family physician and ask he to explain it to you in terms you can understand. May does seem like a long time for now, but it really isn't that far away. I know my daughter was diagnosed in August last year and we had to wait until October to get into see the orthopedic specialist. It seemed like forever! However, not that she is an established patient, we get appointments much quicker and usually when they suit our schedule. Hang in there.:)

I feel so bad for you right now!!! With as much pain as you have, yes, I agree, May is a long time away! I was hoping they wanted to watch your Scoliosis and check it every 3 or 4 months to make sure it isn't progressing. My daughter doesn't have pain, but I've read others on this forum say to try yoga or other types of exercises to relieve the pain but also to strengthen your back muscles. My daughter does exercises for strengthening. Post a question about suggestions on exercises others have tried for pain and have had success with. Good luck and don't give up!:)

hi denise

i am also from the uk and have a form of scoliosis just diagnosed. i have acute severe episodes of pain and lose the use of my lrft leg. i have had an MRI, have you? my consultant has informed me that scoliosis alone does not produce pain, so problems with discs ect have to be investigated, hence the MRI scan. try to get an MRI done, i know it's difficult here in uk we cannot just go and get one of our own bat. Tell me what your pain is like and how often do you suffer pain.

take care
Bev:)
