Hi! I'm new to this forum and am trying to see if any one out there has had fusion without rods? I had my surgery when I was 12 ( I'm 41 now) and could not be corrected so I have no rods and my spine is still quite crooked. I am having nerve pain and every docter I've seen just seems to pat me and say, "... see you next appt." I really would like to know if some one else has the same circumstances!I need to talk to some one about current therapies for muscle and nerve pain, new surgeries, anything that may help me as I age to be able to walk, breathe, and swallow without choking! I'm afraid that due to the fact that my curvature extends from my neck to my sacrum, I'm in for rather a rough ride. Please comment if you have ANY advice!

Hi Ginav...

I'd like to encourage you to get another opinion. If possible, try to find a specialist who has a lot of experience treating patients with prior fusions.

Regards,
Linda

That was my situation. I was greatly helped by revision surgery. My fused spine continued to curve in adulthood - and wasn't stopping.

You will find your answers in this forum.
