  • Surgeons in North America

Is there a place where we can find Surgeons in North America on this board? Or a list?

I am from Ontario originally and had my surgery done through Toronto Sick Kids Hospital. They have a GREAT team there of surgeons who specialize in this topic.

I have an appointment in London, ON to see Dr. Stewart Bailey at LHSC for Adult Scoliosis etc.

But now I am moving to Calgary, Alberta (Western Canada) and want to find a specialist closer to my new home.

What about you? Who have you seen and where?

        Sweetness...

Candidates are individuals who are in the trial phase of their membership. This is from the SRS website:

Candidate Fellowship is open to orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and to non-physician members of allied specialties (such as research scientists.) Physician applicants must be willing to commit to a clinical practice which includes at least 20% spinal deformity. Physicians and non-physicians must be committed to research in the field of scoliosis and related spinal deformities. Candidate Fellows stay in that category for five years, during which time they must demonstrate their interest in spinal deformity and in the goals of the Scoliosis Research Society. Those who complete all requirements are eligible to apply for Active Fellowship in the Society.

Active Fellowship is limited to orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons and to non-physician members of allied specialties. They must have made a significant contribution to spinal problems, and physician candidates must have a clinical practice which includes at least 20% spinal deformity. They must have completed a five year Candidate Fellowship in the society. Only Active Fellows may vote and hold elected offices within the Society.

        Regards,
        Linda

          Hi Erin,
I can't help you with your questions, unfortunately, since we see only pediatric ortho's for my 4 year old son. I just wanted to post and say "Welcome to Calgary"! Hope you love living here as much as we do!
          Cathy
