I have come back from an operation. I'm in so much pain. I want to know if there is some kind of therapy I can do to ease this pain that I have. The meds I'm taken aren't taken. Is there someone out there that can help with some advise? Any is very well appreciated. Thank you.

A pain specialist in your area would help a lot. Find one in your insurance plan.
He helped me immensly. There are other meds besides narcotics which are very effective. Also, he helped me taper off the narcotics which I did 3 months after surgery.

I am no longer in pain since my revision surgery 16 months ago.
I was talking about the pain during the recovery period.
Some scar tissue after surgery was sore but that was helped by physical therapy and soft tissue release.

Ben, how long have you been waiting for surgery, and do you have a date set? What has been taking so long? Virtually all the studies I have read on-line have stated that surgery helps with all areas of problems(pain, sleep, self-esteem, self image, appearance--measured in adolscents mostly-- caused by scoliosis) although it may not make things perfect. I will look up their URLS and post.
Karen, specifically what type of physio helped you? what is soft tissue release? Rowing has been recommended for Leah and other Rhomboid exercises
There have been acouple of studies done that point out the benefits of targeted weight training and aerobic exercise to deal with diminshing lung capacity; did you find that any weight training helped (after full recovery)
Also, you had revision surgery -- was your first surgery unsuccessful, or did problems develop down the road?

Hi Paige!
I was wondering how you were doing -- my daughter will be having surgery in the next few months depending on how things go with the Canadian medical system. We were thinking of you on Jan 22. I'm glad to see you are up and about (kind of) let us know how you are feeling.
