Dr. Lincoln, who I have been seeing for my scoliosis for three years, and performed my surgery six weeks ago is LEAVING! I'm extremely upset, since I felt really secure going to Stanford to see him. We aren't sure why he's leaving. He'll still be working in the area--Santa Clara Valley Medical Center (which I know absolutely nothing about)--so I have to make a choice. I can:
A) Follow Dr. Lincoln. Upside: Getting to keep a doctor I know and trust. Downside: Having to leave the security of Stanford and probably never see Dr. Mok (the resident who works with Dr. Lincoln), Lisa (the child life specialist who I make dolls for), or the xray people I know, again. Which would be a real shame because I feel like I've gotten to know them too. Or...
B) Stay at Stanford, seeing the guy Dr. Lincoln referred me to...Ivan something. Upside: Staying at a hospital I know and still getting to see Dr. Mok and all the other people I know. Downside: Never getting to see Dr. Lincoln again, and having to get further post-ops from a doctor that I don't know!
Either way, I feel like I'm losing friends, because I've gotten to know and trust these people and I would miss any of them. Any advice?
