People post everyday and your questions are answered really soon. also there is a really spiffy smiley called the "lightbulb smiley" and another called the "spinny smiley" and they are happy and full of joy. Its also really safe, we have a great moderator and everything. So check it out if you want!

10-30-2005, 10:56 AM
i hate hate hate spinekids! they are stupid and dumb!

10-30-2005, 02:06 PM
all you need to do is get your parents permission emailed to Jules (the email's on the site somewhere I think)....if that's why you hate us. It's because you said you were 11, and you have to be 13 unless Jules (the admin) has your parent's permission. But if that's not why, then I can't make you like us or anything.

10-30-2005, 02:12 PM
wow. It's against the law to post on the inernet with out parental permission if you're under 13. Your account was disabled because it was breaking the law. You posting here is breaking the law too. And if you hate us for following the law, then GO AHEAD!!!

10-31-2005, 06:10 AM
jeanie, i don't understand why you would hate us. because you didn't get your way? frankly, i think you have a very childish attitude right now. all you have to do is ask you parents to email jules (info@spinekids.com) and you'll be allowed to post on spinekids again. it's very simple! so don't tell us that you're not being able to post is a good reason to hate us. because there's no barrier between you and spinekids.

11-01-2005, 07:44 PM
tell me im crying i hate myself

11-06-2005, 05:05 PM
Jeanie, look...you can't post on the internet if you're only 11. It is way to dangerous. :( No one at spinekids did anything to you, so there is no reason for you to condem us all. ;)

11-07-2005, 12:06 AM
jeannie, all u should do is get parent permission, you should not hate spinekids just because you are only 11 and need permission, you have no reason to hate us but if you do then do so!

11-07-2005, 02:59 PM
Yeah, spinekids is awesome!!!!!!!! :D

11-07-2005, 07:11 PM
im going here out of bordom..

11-07-2005, 09:10 PM
Ok, a question for you SpineGirls that have had surgery: did anyone decide to home school or charter school after surgery rather than going back to your regular school? Joseph's dad is starting to worry about him going back to a large high school after he has surgery. He thinks he should home or charter school for the rest of the year to give his back the best chance to heal. He is really freaked out thinking what might happen in an emergency, etc. If anyone would like to share their post-op back-to-school story, I'd like to hear about it.

11-10-2005, 09:42 PM
nope sorry i havent had surgery yet.

11-25-2005, 07:19 PM
yay, woohoo, I changed my name on spinekids.

Im 15 and i have a 38 degree curve. My doc says that I should be planning for a surgery date next summer. Is surgery the right thing to do? Im close to borderline.

12-07-2005, 10:56 AM
Hey! I just noticed the weirdest thing! Almost everyone on this site (and spinekids) has scolioisis! WOAH! coincidence?

12-07-2005, 01:47 PM
You are SO observant!!! You should be a detective, "PenguinJanitor, Private Eye" :D ;) :) :p

12-08-2005, 02:43 AM
its brill!!

12-08-2005, 07:31 PM
lol.. wow..
and i dont think u shud hav surgery with a 38 degree curve..

12-09-2005, 03:44 AM
scoliogal, i dont think you should have the operation, not with a 38degree curve anyway. its not worth it for that small a curve!
hope your ok
speak soon

Im 15 and i have a 38 degree curve. My doc says that I should be planning for a surgery date next summer. Is surgery the right thing to do? Im close to borderline.
get a second opinion from another surgeon. i always think if a curve is (in relative terms) that low and not showing signs of rapidly progressing then 15 is quite young to be having surgery. there is also potentially a 5 degree margin of error when making manual measurements using xrays (so your curve may even be 33 degrees), but i think a second opinion is in order. most doctors won't consider surgery until a curve hits 40 degrees, and even then there are other factors to consider

12-12-2005, 06:43 AM
HI Spinekids guys!!!! It's Cassity in case u didn't notice the username! lol!

12-12-2005, 10:00 AM
i agree with marmyte. they dont consider surgery unless it is progressing and it may cause future problems with breathing, etc.
my scoliosis wasnt going to cause me any problems, but it was pushing my ribcage and squashing it all up. my breathing capacity was decreased from 100% to 60%, and the only real reason they did my surgery was because it looked bad (the hump) and because the degrees was extreme (98).
hope your well
sheena xxx

I'm just curious, i've been reading quite a bit of posts about this topic but have seen no answers. I was wondering if anyone knew of any potential scholarships for students attending colleges that have gone been diagnosed with scoliosis? I am a 17 year old girl, trying to get scholarships. I've had 3 scoliosis surgery and was braced from ages 7 to 15. My family and I are in need of as much financial aid as we can get and I think that if there isn't a scholarship for this diagnosis, then there needs to be. Please contact me with any information. Thanks!

01-06-2006, 03:01 PM
why should there be a scholarship? i don't see the connection...

03-08-2007, 08:08 PM
Go SpineKIDS!!! YAY!!! They have better smilies than here though...And you can have an avatar...
