Ignore it as best you can and try and remember that they are reacting more out of fear of something they don't understand than probably anything else.

Wearing a brace will show you who your true friends are, those people who care about you despite your different appearance. It used to be a game to the kids in my school - "go bug the girl with the plastic hips" until one day one of them tried to smack me on the back and connected with one of the metal bars.

My real friends asked me what it was, what it was for and then defended me against the kids who tried to make me feel smaller and more different than I already did. My real friends helped me stand taller than my brace ever did.

Don't worry about it. No one at my school knows about my brace. Even if they do find out, more people will think it's cool than wierd. Just ignore people who make fun of you. They're just jelous that you get all the attention.
