  • fused from T5-L1

hello again all. Sorry to be posting so much, but has anyone here had a posterior fusion from t5-l1??? If so, do you have any pictures of the incision and a little bit of information on what your experience was as far as hospital stay, pain management, getting back to a normal life.

    thank you for your time.

Assuming that you're having posterior (from the back) surgery, your incision should be short, probably around 6-8". Assuming that it heals normally, it will be a very thin red line for a year or so and then will become a very thin white line. Many of us think of them as are battle wounds. :-)

My 13 y.o. daughter had posterior only to correct her Kyphosis and Scoliosis. Her fusion is a little longer than yours, her's is from T3-L2, and her scar is about 14 inches long. At six months post-op, it looks great! Like Linda said, a little red, but very thin.

If you want details of her recovery, let me know, but again, she is a teenager and things are always a little different when dealing with kids.
