genetic testing

I am seeking treatment for my daughter at Shriners hosp in springfield mass. we were able to get seen in a week. The people there are wonderful. Due to the fact that I had severe scoliosis which required fusion at age 11. the doctors are requesting genetic testing for my daughter. I am not sure what they can infer from this. Is there any one who knows about this? Thanks in advance for your replies.:confused:

My daughter was just diagnosed with scoliosis too. I have severe scoliois found at age 11. He mentioned something about blood tests, but didn't elaborate. If anyone knows about this I'll ask at our next visit.
