    Hi eveyone!

Is there a particular instance when a doctor will not perform scoliosis surgery?

    Thanks,
    Becky

    Hi Becky...

    I can think of several:

    *Curves aren't severe enough
*Curves aren't progressing and patient has no pain
*Patient has too many other problems (especially pulmonary)
*Patient is too old (some doctors don't restrict for age)
    *Patient isn't mentally stable
*Patient has no one to help at home once released from the hospital

There are probably others as well.

    Regards,
    Linda
