  • Any stats on surgery for smaller curves?

My curves are significant, and will have to have surgery sooner or later.
But i was wanting to find out info and stats about people who have curves less than 40 degrees and had them operated upon.
I know doctors like to defer to 45-50 degrees, but has anyone heard of surgries in smaller curves?
My last measurment was 47 and 28 i believe.

    Hi Central...

I don't think any such studies exist. Years ago, Dr. Hugo Kiem was known for operating on kids with smaller curves. Now it would probably be considered malpractice.

For the most part, I'd guess that the size of one's curve doesn't really have much impact on outcome, although really large curves are probably more complex than smaller ones.
